Sunset Rangers is a great project where you will see the western lifestyle. An indie, action game developed by 9heads Game Studios. The game will be in early access on Steam in a few weeks. Early access features random building, ammunition and unique and random weapons made from different parts, which are located in random areas in the game. You can also choose different class, equipment, clothing, add friends to help you against other players and enemies.
Gameplay
In Sunset Rangers you have to survive, trade, explore deserts, canyons and towns. Open and dangerous world where you will fight against giant worms and try to survive by gathering resources. There are also hidden treasures randomly on the map. You will get a chance to craft your own weapons and gear.
Choose between Gunslinger, Blacksmith, Civilian and other races. You spawn on a random map, in a random City. There are few cities and each of them is connected with a road. You find random guns on the map, with special abilities and different types of barrels, grips and blocks. Also, you will find valuable items across the map. They show random as well as left by bandits, hidden in a safe or just by killing any monster.
“Wanted” or “Most Wanted”
So, you will find yourself in a desert, where is very hot and you need water and food to survive. Often is a very good idea to play together with some players and all of you to get these main items to survive. But, you will never know who to trust. That’s what I like about Sunset Rangers. The developers made a great open world, real life experience game.
You can die as well, but if you play smart, you can bury and hide items for the next time when you respawn. And be careful, don’t let anyone know where your stash is buried.
As I said above, you can craft weapons, clothes and equipment to survive. With the different styles of clothing, you can be Bandit, Civil War Soldier or a Cowboy! If you choose to be a Bandit and kill players, you will be on the list as “Wanted” and there will be a bounty on you. This doesn’t stop here. If you succeed to kill a lot of players or NPC’s, you will be “Most Wanted“. I guarantee you that you will see my name and picture very often. 🙂
The developers are open to any suggestions that can help them to improve Sunset Rangers, because the game is still in development.
I think that they should add horses and the ability to shoot from them as well. Unique rifles and shotguns with special abilities sound like a good idea too. And for me the most important mode, Duel. You are playing a western style game and this is the main thing they should implement in Sunset Rangers.Â
Overall I think this is a great game, with so far good graphics and audio.
