The long awaited update that’s going to make a lot of changes in the game is finally going to be released. The New Battlefield 1 Update Brings Giant’s Shadow map, new content and gameplay changes with an additional Shotguns balance.

While all the players feel the hype for the release of the new map, this update will also include general fixes, tweaks for improving the gameplay experience. At first, let’s say that Battlefield 1 has been one of the most played FPS games this year and most successful in terms of sale.

This was announced on their official website by Jonas Elfving.

The update should come to live at 13 of December. Speaking of the probably most fun to see, the new map is going to be based in a battle of the Selle in 1918. There will also be a new Support class gadget, the Grenade Crossbow.

The new update will be available to everyone and it will come as a free update for Battlefield 1. It will apply to all players on December 20.

New Spectator Mode

A new Spectator Mode is about to come. This means that players will now be able to join a live Battlefield 1 match and have the possibility to be observers. The observers their camera between first person and third person view of all the players, use the free cam to fly or enter into a bird’s eye view of the action and what is going on on the map.

After this update comes to live, there should be a big difference when switching the camera from player to player. Also, this should get rid of the lag when doing that.

New Custom Game Option:

There will be a new custom game option which will be named Standard Issue Rifles. All classes will be granted access to their faction’s standard issue rifle when this option is checked.

Shotgun Balance

The Shotgun balance has been addressed in the upcoming update too. The goal is to even the advantages and disadvantages of every shotgun. This means, changing the damage depending on the distance and reduced range for the buckshot variants. This will pretty much also reduce the max one hit kill distance.

At last, the developer said that Battlefield 1 will continue to receive the feedback provided by the players. By doing that, it will try to improve Battlefield 1 as much as possible. As always, building and listening to the community is what the game needs, meaning every single game should be doing this.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
