Steep Update 1.02: State Of The Game

Ubisoft said that the new Steep update 1.02 is now live. The developers did an amazing job with this game. Constantly improving Steep and making special challenges for the players. Pushing the limit to the players always brings a lot of gaming. Well done Ubisoft!

Since the Open Beta was released and was free for the weekend, Ubisoft is more than ready to help the players to get the best gaming experience on the snow. This time Steep got the update 1.02 from the players. Every time when something went wrong the devs got small reports and they react fast and on time. This update 1.02 brings us some fixes and a few improvements. Here is the list of this last Steep update 1.02:

Bugs and fixes

Progression Page Added to Menu –  Players can now check their progression from the menu and have an overview of all the challenges they have completed, as well as the ones remaining to be completed or unlocked. Challenges can also be filtered by type or sport. You can select any unlocked challenge and be sent directly to it in Mountain View. It’s a new way to browse quickly through the content in the game.

Fixed: Tricks Exploit – A system now informs players when they don’t move on to the next checkpoint after a pre-set amount of time, preventing them from being able to go back up the mountain to score tricks. Players attempting to boost snowboard/skiing challenge scores in this way will now be automatically detected and disqualified when trying to complete these challenges.

Fixed: “Help me, I’m Stuck on a Rock and I can’t get up!” – A player will no more get stuck on rocks when he wants to retry a challenge.

Fixed: “Customization Reset” – You have to be carefull because the “reset to default” option is not longer available. Choose your costume and items wisely.

Fixed: “NEW Indicator, or the ‘Wait, didn’t I already do that challenge?’ Issue” – When you finish the Invitational Challenge on the map is not showing as NEW anymore. Now it says Already Completed

Fixed: “Permanent Players” – Players no longer see other players who have left the map and/or aren’t riding next to them anymore.

Fixed: “Connect to a Group” – For Xbox One players joining into groups is not longer an issue and also the error message is gone.

Miscellaneous Improvements

  1. When you ride, very distant challenges won’t be visible anymore, reducing the crowded feeling on screen and enhancing the immersion in the mountains.
  2. You can now change ambiance in Mountain View, using DPAD Down.
  3. In the RIDER page, you can now preview items before buying them. Leave your cursor on an item for a second and your rider’s preview will be updated
  4. You can now teleport to a player of your group directly from the Mountain View by selecting him/her with the cursor.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
