Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite Shiny Assets Added in Pokemon Go Prior to Second Community Day, Get Ready for New Shinies

It has been posted by a dataminer called Chrales that the developers of Pokemon GO have added 3D assets for the shiny versions of Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite to the servers.

This means that we will see the shiny versions of Dratini, as a part of Community day that will happen tomorrow. To have a shiny Pokemon means that you have a variant of a Pokemon that is quite rare. The shiny versions of Dratini and Dragonair have purple skin and Dragonite has olive-green skin and purple wings.

The last Community day revolved around a Pikachu that knew Surf. Niantic also added a Shiny Pikachu in the game. This Shiny Dratini line is actually the first line of non-Gen 3 Pokemon that we have seen in the game. Every Pokemon that has been added to the game was actually from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Currently, available non-Gen 3 Shiny Pokemon are Magikarp, Gyarados and Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu. Other Shiny versions that are available right now can be found here.

Each Community day event is said to last for three hours, with times varying depending on the continent. We are listing below the start time of the event in each continent:

• Asia-Pacific region: 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM JST (GMT +9)
• Europe, the Middle East, and Africa: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM UTC (GMT +0)
• The Americas: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM PST (GMT -8)

For last, Dragonite can learn a special move – Draco Meteor when evolved from Dragonair. So those thinking that is better to just TM a Dragonite and save candies, don’t do it, because TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day. In order to learn this special move, players have to catch or evolve the special Pokemon, in this case, Dratini.
