Team Secret announced their new Fortnite Battle Royale squad, and it looks like these guys got some skills.
The new 4-man squad:
- Mats ‘Sak0ner’ Sorum – Norway
- Kyle ‘Mongraal’ Jackson – United Kingdom
- Domeniks ‘Domentos’ Bunts – Latvia
- Michael ‘VNHL’ Gustad – Norway
What is very interesting, is player No. 2 “Mongraal.” He is a 13-year-old player who just got signed by a pro team. Team Secret CEO, Yao didn’t have any idea that they are signing a 13-year-old player, saying:
“Because when we looked at some of the videos and we looked at their gameplay, it was not apparent. What immediately stood out to me was how mature he was, and he sounded just like one of the other guys.”
Kyle is not the youngest pro player in the gaming world though. Jun “TY” Tae Yang was 12 years old when WeMade Fox signed him in 2006, but he did not make any appearances until he was 13 and a half years old.
Surprisingly, even Jun is not the youngest pro player. This title goes to Victor De Leon III, going by the nickname Lil Poison. He was only 6 years old when he was signed up. When he was 7 years old, he went at a Halo 2 FFA tournament, in which he beat out most of the 550 contestants.
Team Secret recently signed a PUBG team. PUBG is already holding the first major esports tournament happening in the summer, but we are not seeing Fortnite yet. However, Yao is hoping to see Fortnite as part of the esports tournament.
“When a game gets popular enough, generally everybody tries to get into esports because they want to legitimize the game’s competitive nature,” he said.
Because Fortnite has a competitive nature to it, the CEO of Team Secret, Yao, thinks that the game will be established in the esports scene soon, and guess who is going to represent the team?
For last, Team Secret Fortnite uploaded a video, so take a look and let us know who’s your favorite in the comments section below.
