Atari VCS Console Pre-Orders Open on May 30

Atari announced their new project on June 8, 2017, and today, as confirmed on their official website, the pre-orders for the new Atari VCS gaming console will go live at the end of this month, May 30.

Atari’s first project was the Jaguar, which debuted in 1993, and now they’re officially back in the hardware business with their new project, the Atari VCS.

The retro-inspired gaming console will be with 4K resolution, HDR and 60 frames per second output from its custom AMD processor and Radeon graphics. This console will come with its own internal storage, with a possibility to add external storage, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB 3.0.

As now confirmed, there will be different offers for the Atari VCS, and the starting price will be $199, including:

  • Atari VCS black console;
  • Classic controllers;
  • Modern controllers;
  • Atari VCS Collector’s Edition retro-wood design (rumor, not confirmed).

The new Atari VCS console will bring classic titles, as well as new, modern gaming titles. There is not much info on what gaming title will be available, so as soon as we have something, you’ll be the first to know.

For last, the pre-order will go live on indigogo, on May 30.
