Pokemon Company Celebrates Second Highest Net Profit in History, Pokemon Go Remains Top Earner

Pokemon Company’s annual fiscal results have been revealed, and the company is celebrating their second-best fiscal year with net profit of more than $80 million and Pokemon Go as a top earner.

Pokemon Company’s 20th fiscal year ended on February 28, 2018, with an incredible profit of $80.8 million. This is a great number but is also a huge drop comparing to last year results.

Last year was Pokemon Company’s best fiscal year with over $145 million profit. That was the year when Pokemon Go for mobile and Pokemon Sun/Moon for 3DS made their debut, with Pokemon Go making over 51% of the profit for a very short period.

Here are the last five fiscal years’ net profits, thanks to Serkantoto:

  • 16th fiscal: US$10.8 million;
  • 17th fiscal: US$18.7 million;
  • 18th fiscal: US$5.7 million;
  • 19th fiscal: US$145.6 million;
  • 20th fiscal: US$80.8 million.

Pokemon Company is still breaking records, obviously not as good as the previous year, but there is an explanation for all of that.

As most of the Pokemon fans know, there is a new Pokemon RPG Switch game on the horizon and the company has been working on the new project for over a year now. There is still no official info on what this game is all about, but the rumors are saying that new details are coming in the following weeks.
