Update 6/26/2018: Starting on July 1 at 1:00 PM PDT new Research tasks will go live and players will encounter Pokemon originally discovered in the Kanto region.
Collecting enough stamps and earning a Research Breakthrough, players will have a chance to catch Snorlax that already knows Body Slam.

As announced on the official Pokemon Go Twitter we expect to see Kanto Pokemon, with a focus shown on Snorlax together with Pikachu, Eevee and Ditto.
It’s currently unknown what Pokemon will be given for the Research Breakthrough, but as soon as we have any info, you’ll be the first to know.
