Pokemon Go Fest 2018 Roundup, Get Ready for the Special Ultra Bonus

The PoGo Fest 2018 is now over and as the reports say, 21,000 Trainers attended this event, 180,000 Trainers participated in the surrounding Chicago area and millions participated in finishing the Professor Willow’s Global Challenge who helped in unlocking the Bonus Reward on July 21 – the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos.

This year PoGo Fest ran smoothly, without any technical problems and the players who got a chance to participate in this event are very pleased with Niantic and their dedication to making everything perfect.

During the two-day event in Chicago, attendants walked an average of 6+km, completed 36 research tasks and ended up catching +-350 Pokemon each day. More than 50 Pokemon were spawning in Lincoln Park in Chicago including Plusle, Minun, Ludicolo, Torkoal, Metagross and the mythical Pokemon Celebi through finishing the research task.

Players around the world also got a chance to feel the event spirit, by participating in the Global event Challenge. This challenge was successfully completed and starting from today at 1:00 PM PDT, until July 23, players around the world will get:

The players also unlocked the Bonus Reward and on July 21, the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos will start to spawn around the world as a T5 Raid Boss for 3-hours. In addition, spinning a PhtoDisc at a Gym will get you up to five Raid Passes – starting 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM JST. Here is the timing:

  •  The Asia-Pacific region: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST (GMT +9);
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. UTC (GMT +0);
  • The Americas and Greenland: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).

For last, the Safari Zone event in Yokosuka, Japan goes live on August 29-September 2, featuring a new, final Global Challenge to unlock the SPECIAL ULTRA BONUS. This bonus will go live in September, the month when Mewtwo was introduced for the first time in Pokemon Go (only with Ex Raid Pass). What if the Special Ultra Bonus is a shiny Mewtwo to celebrate its first anniversary?

This could mean only one thing – no Celebi for everyone until September.
