Previous Story: Trainers, Chinese New Year is right around the corner and this year 2019 would be the Year of the Pig and we expect to see a new Lunar New Year 2019 event in Pokemon Go on February 5 featuring pig-like Pokemon, their shiny forms and new bonuses.
If you pay
Pretty much everyone expected to see Mamoswine during the last Pokemon Go Holiday Event as this is Ice/Ground Type Gen 4 Pokemon, but it definitely looks like Niantic delayed Swinub’s last evolution most likely for the Lunar New Year 2019 event.
Last year’s Lunar New Year event started on February 15-February 17, featuring dog-like Pokemon as it was the Year of the Dog. During the short 2-day event, Poochyena, Growlithe, Snubbul, Eevee and Electrike spawn rate was increased, we had a chance to receive bonus Stardust and Niantic released shiny Poochyena in the wild. If we follow last year’s event, get ready for Pig-Based Pokemon Go event next month.
In addition, collect as many high IV Swinub as you can, stock up on Sinnoh Stones, as Mamoswine might require one before evolving from Piloswine.
The first day of the Lunar New Year will be on Tuesday, February 5, initiating the Year of the Pig.
