Epic Games Begun Legal Proceedings Against the Organizers of UK Fortnite Live Festival
Epic Games, the ones who are behind Fortnite will open a lawsuit against the ones that are responsible for ” Fortnite Live Festival” which was happening in Norwich, England this last weekend (February 15-17, 2019).
The news for this festival made headlines, because people had given money for tickets that were too expensive, and turned out to be an absolute disaster. People had to wait in long lines in the cold. Some of them got refunded, and the Facebook page for the festival has mysteriously disappeared.
It was later said that Fortnite did not take any part in the festival. The people who organized this did not have a legal license, but they went on to use Fortnite’s name, logo and characters anyway.
In their official statement, Epic Games confirmed this by issuing the claims.
The quality of our player experience is incredibly important to us, whether it’s inside the game or at official public events like last year’s Fortnite Pro-Am.
The organizers, called Exciting Events had given a promise to bring back the show to Norwich next year, but because of the recent developments, this will be close to impossible.
This is for the kids who love the game of Fortnite. I would love it to be an annual thing. Those people who didn’t get value for money on activities, we have got to make that better next year. It is highlighted to us now that we didn’t have enough of that.
