X Marks The Spot has a reason, treasure chests coming to Fortnite soon

After talking with lots of players and community members that are very deep into the Fortnite lore, we’ve all come down to a conclusion. This new feature was announced on the news tab in Fortnite, but how is it going to work exactly? We assume we have the answer, but take it with a grain of salt.

It hasn’t been confirmed by any Epic Games employee so that we could hold a firm statement. The X Marks The Spot and the Buried Treasure will probably introduce new high tier loot on the map that will be available during start. This is also a schematic already seen in Apex Legends, where High Tier Loot is marked before jump off.

Opening the map will include an X Mark or the location of the High Priority loot. The location of the loot is probably going to change each consecutive match, making it dynamic. Recent data mines have discovered that the X Mark has sound files attached to it, which proves the fact that we’ll need to dig the loot out each time we find it.

As we said, lots of people believe this feature is being added upon Apex Legends arrival. Their High Loot Tier zone is one of the good features found in Apex Legends, and as such, it would be of a vital choice to see the same in Fortnite.

Others believe that X Marks the spot will be a set of challenges to accomplish within a random time span. For that, we’ll have to wait and see until tomorrow, or Thursday.
