The No. 3 Trainer Mewtwo trophy card it’s considered to be the rarest, most authentic piece which was first awarded to the 3rd place winner of 1999’s Secret Super Battle tournaments in Japan. It has a unique PSA certificate number, lighthouse logo and fugitive ink, which makes it harder to sell it to anyone who is familiar with the Pokemon trophy cards, tournaments, etc.

The Secret super battle (SSB) part of the SUMMER 99 Challenge series of tournaments which also included the TMB. The SSB was for intermediate to advanced level players. The tournament seemed more directed towards high school ages on up, whereas the TMB was elementary age.

The players had to choose one of three gym decks. A lot of adults attended the tournament which provided a very competitive atmosphere. Winners then advanced to the finals held on August 22, 1999, in a “secret” location in Tokyo. This is where the tournament got its name.

We can only assume how much of stress this is for both the seller and the buyer, as it’s the card is not covered by insurance, and we really want to help out and spread the word.

With that being said, if anyone has any information that will lead to finding the card, please send us an email, call PSA Customer Service or send them an email.
