Update September 11, 2019: Trainers who evolve Grotie during or up to two hours afterward can obtain a Torterra that knows the Special Move Frenzy Plant.
In addition, Turtwig will also be available in 2KM Eggs and in Raids.
During #PokemonGOCommunityDay, say “aloe” to tons more Turtwig! Spin PokéStops, and you may receive 2 km Eggs that will hatch into Turtwig. Turtwig will also be available to challenge in raids. We’re rooting for you!

Previous Story August 7, 2019: Trainers, the ninth in a row Community Day of 2019 is going live on September 15 featuring Turtwig.
Turtwig Community Day will begin on September 15 at 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM local time, featuring:
- Increased spawn rate of the Special Pokemon Turtwig
- 3x Capture Stardust
- 3 Hour Lure Modules
- New Shiny forms
- Torterra will learn a special move (yet to be announced)
