Call of Duty 2020 with a New Developer, Sledgehammer Games No Longer In Charge
Call of Duty 2020 will be Black Ops and is being developed by Treyarch, as Sledgehammer Games was partially removed from office. It seems that the game is also having development problems.
The same source who provided some very valuable and reliable information about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare before the game’s presentation assures us that the name of the upcoming Call of Duty has not yet been set.
Twitter user TheGamingRevolution, who has previously revealed details of the new Modern Warfare, has been asked by fans about the upcoming game and here is his response:
Currently the game is 3/10 completed. The name has yet to be assigned, with BO5, Black Ops and other Black Ops themes being discussed.
Another source assures that the upcoming Black Ops will be a Cold War come back and will be a very different game from the coming Modern Warfare.
The Call of Duty series launches every year, and every time we see a new developer behind the titles. Infinity Ward, the creator of the series, has Modern Warfare. Treyarch is the developer of Black Ops. Sledgehammer Games has developed Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: WWII.
Sledgehammer Games was responsible for the upcoming 2020 COD game, but Activision Blizzard, the game’s publisher, relieved them of the task and gave the game to Treyarch due to internal tensions, a change in the console generation, and business model conflicts.
Sledgehammer Games, however, has not been completely removed from game development. The California studio along with Raven Software is in charge of the upcoming game campaign.
The official unveiling of the game has yet to come. Activision usually gives more details on it in May.
There’s no doubt that one of this month’s most anticipated launches is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a game that promises to change Activision’s annual series. A launch trailer was launched yesterday, which you can see here.
