Pokemon Go Pokemon Sword and Shield Possible Tie-In Event on November 15

Trainers, Niantic are known for making tie-in events when a new game or a movie related to the Pokemon franchise is being released and this time we’re talking about a new event in Pokemon Go to celebrate the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield on November 15.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is coming to Nintendo Switch this Friday, November 15, 2019, and we expect to see a new tie-in event in Pokemon Go throughout the weekend.

Please have in mind that the following is just a tease and a hint, 0% confirmed and 0% a leak!

If, and only if a new tie-in event will go live, we expect the event to go live this Friday, on November 15, 2019, and to end on November 17, 2019, featuring:

  • Galarian forms Pokemon
  • Candy Bonus
  • New Shiny Pokemon
  • Changes in the Egg Pool

So, why do we think we might see the debut of the Galarian Pokemon in Pokemon Go?

The following three new Galarian forms Pokemon and “Galarian” search filter have been discovered in Pokemon Go’s GM File v0.159.0 update:

  • Galarian Weezing

  • Galarian Zigzagoon

  • Galarian Linoone

  • “Galarian” search filter

The text in the code hints at Galarian forms, which will most likely be released as part of a tie-in event when Nintendo launches the new Pokemon Sword and Shield title on November 15.

What are the Galarian Pokemon?

In the Galar region, a species’ regional form is referred to as its Galarian form (Japanese: ガラルのすがた Galar form). A Pokémon in its Galarian form is described as Galarian — for example, Weezing in its Galarian form is referred to as Galarian Weezing. Unlike in Alola, Pokémon from beyond Generation I have known Galarian forms, and there is at least one known case of an evolution exclusive to a Galarian form Pokémon, Obstagoon.
