When players in Apex Legends are knocked down they usually use knockdown shields which block damages and gives them a bit of hope that they will not be eliminated instantly.
Now, with the latest update, the player who knocked down an enemy, doesn’t have to waste ammo, to test his/her karate kicks and waste time to eliminate the knocked player who is holding a shield, they just have to start a finisher, cancel it and eliminate the enemy with the weapon. Sounds confusing, right?
Well, with the latest Apex Legends update, you can now cancel a finisher. When you cancel a finisher, there is a brief window before the knocked enemy can use its shield again and you can take advantage and be quick enough to skip the finisher, your opponent’s knockdown shield and eliminate the player faster.
Issue with the new finishers for all you sweats out there: When you cancel a finisher, knockdown shields take a split second to go back up. You can use that time to flick down and thirst your opponent for an armour swap in the heat of battle. from r/apexlegends
NOTE: PC players can cancel the finisher with left click. PS4 players can cancel the finisher with triangle.
