Pokemon Go Shiny Riolu from Eggs

Trainers, Pokemon Go’s Spring event has started and players from all over the world are reporting that the chances of hatching Shiny Riolu from Eggs are “close to none.”

Riolu and its evolution Lucario are one of the most famous Pokemon in the Pokemon franchise. Lucario is the signature Pokemon from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, has its own movie, appeared in Pokemon X&Y and this Pokemon is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. So pretty much, Riolu and Lucario are two very popular Pokemon in the Pokemon world.

Riolu appeared for the first time in the game in October 2018, in 7KM Eggs. The hatch rate was 2%, which means that the chances of hatching Riolu from 7KM Eggs were very small, almost impossible.

Now, with the new Spring event, many players were hoping that Niantic and Pokemon Go will increase the chances of hatching Shiny Riolu from Eggs. Unfortunately, they didn’t change anything and the Pokemon Go community is not happy about it.

Shiny Riolu is currently available from 2KM, 7KM, and 10KM Eggs and according to reports, data and evidence, forget about hatching Shiny Riolu from Eggs.

Pokemon Go Spring event ends on April 16 at 10 PM local time.

  1. I have to dispute the claim in this article.
I hatched two shiny Riolu on Saturday from friend eggs, and my husband hatched one on Friday.
I think the shiny odds have been dramatically increased from the last opportunity we had at shiny Riolu.

  2. I hatched a normal Riolu last night and a shiny Riolu on my lunch break at work today – both from 2km eggs. The latter was literally the 13th shiny that I’ve found in the game in the last month though, compared to eight in the four months prior since I’d started playing. So I think that Niantic probably increased the shiny spawn rate when they made the rest of their changes to accommodate a certain current situation, but just didn’t put it out there.
