Escape From Tarkov Nerfs Mosin, VAL, VSS, Technical Update 06-30-2020

Battlestate Games has released another minor update for Escape From Tarkov. Some ammo, guns, and accuracy in-general received tweaks. Both of the most crucial weapons in the game are facing nerfs, but will it be enough to sustain balance? Furthermore, one ammo caliber is slightly buffed, and that is the 4.6×30. We’ll update that in the ammo table.

VSS and VAL have been the most favored weapons, usually used by players in intensive environments such as in Labs. They are found to be the most dominant CQB (Close Quarter Battle) weapons but sometimes can even surprise at a long distance. Speaking of Tarkov, long-distance battles are rarely situated, making the VSS and VAL the sole choice for all the Tarkov top dogs.

Below you can find the changelog for today’s update:

  • lowered recoil decrease on VAL and VSS base stocks
  • increased accuracy of Glock barrels, Grach pistol, P226 barrels
  • upped penetration for 4.6×30 ammo
  • lowered accuracy of Mosin barrels

Furthermore, we believe that Reserve has also received changes. The underground tunnels have been extended, connecting multiple buildings on the battlefield. We are not sure if this represents Reserve as a whole because Nikita, the CEO of BSG, has previously stated that Reserve is planned to contain “an underground city.” We’ll have to wait and see if other changes take up a queue.
