Ghost of Tsushima’s 1.05 Update Introduces The Hardest “Lethal” Difficulty

Ghost of Tsushima is currently in a perfect spot after the launch. The game has sold 2.4 million copies in the first three days of launch, which already proved its essential footprint in the gaming industry. The new update is here to introduce the players with a brand new difficulty and allow them to put themselves in Jin Sakai’s skin.

The new difficulty not only makes the enemies deal more damage, but also make your weapons slice through thick and thin a lot easier. The damage buff is somewhat mutual, while the enemies are more aggressive and detect players faster.

Ghost of Tsushima 1.05 Patch Notes

New difficulty level: Lethal

  • Enemy weapons are more deadly, but Jin’s katana is also more deadly
  • Enemies are more aggressive in combat
  • Enemies detect you faster
  • Tighter Parry and Dodge windows

Patch 1.05 will also include the following new options in the accessibility menu:

Lower Intensity Combat

Lower intensity mode is meant to maintain the heart and feel of Ghost of Tsushima combat while relaxing several timing-specific elements. Combat is less intense, giving you more time to react. Stealth settings are more forgiving, and enemies take longer to detect you.

  • Most enemy attacks that are normally unblockable become blockable when Lower Intensity is enabled. Blocking with L1 will keep you safe from more attacks than standard combat, though some attacks must still be dodged.
  • Enemies break off their attack combos after damaging you, giving you a chance to recover before the next wave of attacks. In addition, your heavy attacks will interrupt attacks from Brutes, giving you another way to stop their combos.
  • Enemies will not attack you while you’re using Resolve to heal
  • Enemy awareness builds more slowly, giving you more time to recover after being spotted

Text changes

  • Large Text option: Increases text size of subtitles, mission objectives and interact prompts by 150% when enabled
  • Added option to turn speaker name off when subtitles are enabled
  • New subtitle text color options in addition to white: Yellow, Blue, Red, Green

So far, the developer hasn’t released any statement of a Game + Mode, while most of the fans are eagerly waiting for this feature. Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima is a fantastic game and has quickly become player’s favorite.

After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
