Rumor: PS4 owners of GTA 5 may get a free upgrade on the PS5

Unlike the Spider-Man controversy and Sony neglecting a free Spider-Man upgrade on the PS5, GTA 5 tends to have a slightly different, better outcome. Apparently, a French Retailer has discovered that Grand Theft Auto 5 will get a free upgrade on the PS5, even though fans are finding it hard to believe.

This is one of the biggest differences between the two next-gen consoles, Xbox Series X and PS5, and Microsoft seems to be highlighting this feature quite heavily over Sony. Next-gen upgrades are very much appreciated for all the owners of titles such as this one on older generation consoles, and would probably prevail over an excessive and blank purchase.

Back to the GTA 5 subject. Would Rockstar Games give away free copies of GTA 5 to all the owners of the PS5? As much as blatant as it sounds, given GTA 5’s life, it wouldn’t be strange to see if Rockstar Games and Sony opt into such admission. Therefore, those who have bought GTA 5 on the PS5 have a strong chance of getting the free upgrade on the PS5 without spending a dime if the statement of the French retailer Micromania turns out to be true.

The official Reddit Thread can be found below:

According to a French Retailer (Micromania), GTA V will get a Free PS5 Upgrade if you own the PS4 version from GamingLeaksAndRumours

Do you think that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available as a free upgrade on the PS5 for all eligible users? Usually, leaks like this one turn out to be true, especially if they get removed shortly after their publicity. That’s exactly what occurred this time.
