Axiom Verge 2 Delayed To Next Year

Axiom Verge is a Metroid-like indie platformer, developed by one single person, Thomas Happ. It has its place among one of the best indie games of the generation, and for a good reason at that. The fact that the game was developed by one person, compared to its success, is mind-blowing.

After its success, Happ decided to start his next project, Axiom Verge 2, bound to release somewhere around 2020. Just like the original, Happ has gone solo with this one as well. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production for the game has slowed down, so Happ has predicted it will come out in the first half of 2021, sooner or later. He claims that it has affected his productivity, especially when caring for his young child.

Compared to the first game, Thomas Happ claims that this one will be more complicated and customizable, which is one factor of why the game will be delayed. It indeed is something to look out for, considering the success and awesomeness of the first one.
