Pokemon GO AR Mapping tasks
Guys, Pokemon GO is getting a new feature! Yesterday, October 20th, 2020, Niantic announced that the game, starting at 1 p.m. October 20th will be having new AR Mapping tasks. These fun tasks will be available for Trainers that are level 20 and higher, and they will be getting them from spinning a certain PokeStop, which will have a unique “design.” This feature will not be available for Niantic Kids accounts, but Niantic said parents could toggle this feature on for these accounts in the future.
These tasks will require a Trainer to complete some action either at your favorite PokeStop or a one nearby. There will be an arrow next to the task, and you need to tap it and explore the area near you through the new PokeStop scanning feature and then upload it. This is quite similar to the regular Field Research Tasks.
All you need is 30 seconds to complete the scans, with the PokeStop in the center of the frame, visible from top to bottom. Niantic has made sure to add prompts if there is any problem with your scanning. Of course, you need to go into AR mode for this, which we all know that it can drain your battery, so make sure you have your portable charger with you. We do not know what kind of rewards you will be getting from completing them yet, but we are sure Niantic will “release” a list of rewards soon.
