DOOM Eternal will be Backwards Compatible for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Next-Gen version planned for the future

In these past few days, we’ve been getting a lot of information on the backward compatibility for games on the next-gen consoles. Recently, Bethesda gave more details on the backward compatibility for DOOM Eternal, announcing that it’ll be available for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The upgrade will work for physical and digital versions through Smart Delivery and Playstation download. Id Software still hasn’t given us info on the enhancements, but we’re expecting faster loading times. However, even if Bethesda hasn’t given us any details on a next-gen upgrade, they’ve still confirmed that it’s planned for the future.

DOOM Eternal is the latest addition to the Doom franchise, giving us the right old FPS demon-killing action in newer consoles. It’s currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, but it’ll be instantly downloadable when the Xbox Series X/S launch on November 10th and when the PS5 arrives on November 12th.
