Meet Joey Chiu, the Guy who Got the First PS5 from Sony for Being first in Line at the PS4 and PS4 Pro Launch

With hours away from the PS5 launch for the US fans, we discovered who is the first person/customer to get a PS5, and that is Joey Chiu. You probably heard about this guy before, as he was the first in line to buy the PS4 back in 2013 and first in line to get the PS4 Pro back in 2016 and he is now officially the “First owner of PS5.”

Two days before its official launch, on November 10, 2020, Chiu got a personalized package from Sony with the console in it and a special note which read “Patience is a virtue, this is for you.” This is a nice gesture coming from a big company like Sony, especially in these dark COVID-19 times. Chiu went on Twitter after he opened the package, showing us an image of how it looked. Then Sony tweeted back five heart-emojis.

The official launch of the console is tomorrow, November 12th. It is hard to find a pre-order for it, but Sony said that they will distribute it to online storefronts. Big chain companies like Walmart will have several units ready for sale beginning at noon.
