October’s Highest Grossing Digital Game was Genshin Impact

MiHoYO’s free to play action game, Genshin Impact, still dominating in the world of digital gaming. Being free to play, Genshin Impact has had reached quite the popularity, and with the power of in-game marketing, that success was highly likely to transfer into powerful earnings. SuperData Research has discovered that Genshin Impact was the highest-grossing game for October.

Genshin Impact from miHoYo was October’s highest-grossing game. The title, which was released on September 28 on mobile, PlayStation 4 and PC, is an unprecedented international success for a game made by a Chinese developer. Genshin Impact features monetization mechanics commonly found in mobile games like collecting characters through gacha (where users pay for the chance to get random in-game items) and limited-time events. However, gameplay inspired by console role-playing games and action-adventure titles attracted players who may have avoided mobile gacha games in the past.

With the latest 1.1 update, Genshin Impact’s sensation is likely to continue thanks to the addition of new characters and a limited-time event. PlayStation 5 players can now also delve into the game, considering that the update has brought support for the PS5. Genshin Impact can now run at 60 FPS on the next-gen console. Furthermore, the game is prominent to future updates that will bring even more content, which aligns the hype and success of the game.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
