Pokemon GO Beyond will bring much new stuff to the game, including the feature called Seasons. Just as the real-life seasons, the seasons will change in Pokemon GO too. Now we will have autumn, winter, spring, and summer.
Niantic has released an article on their blogspot where they are explaining what this new feature will look like and what will happen during these changes. They said that each Season there will be different Pokemon appearing in the wild and hatching, depending on which Season the game is in at the moment. Depending on which hemisphere the player is in, there will be differences in the wild encounters you have and Niantic mentioned that the events will be in correlation with the Season. Each Season will bring us a different/new Mega-Evolved Pokemon and some of them will have limited periods where they will have increased total CP.
As far as GO Battle League goes, Niantic has surprised us with an increase of 24 ranks, instead of 10. The top four Ranks will have new names and corresponding badges. The whole system will have a new reward structure, which will make it easier for a Trainer to level up. These Leagues will also be themed, corresponding with the Season.
These new changes will begin on December 1st, 2020, at 8 a.m. titled A Season of Celebration. We will finally see Pokemon from the new Generation 6, the Kalos Region. Also, at the end of the Season of Celebration, they will be introducing a brand-new global event.
