NieR: Automata surpasses 5 Million Copies Sold

Nier: Automata is a 2017 action role-playing game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. It is a sequel to the 2010 video game Nier, a spin-off and sequel of the Drakengard series.

The game got a lot of attention when it was released. During the NieR Christmas Livestream hosted today, Square Enix confirmed that NieR: Automata has surpassed 5 million copies sold. It was also confirmed that the series would be getting a Manga spin-off, which is great news for avid fans.

NieR: Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machines.

In other related NieR news, we recently got an official release date for NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139. It’s arriving on April 22nd, in Japan and Asia. The west will have to wait one day longer, as it will come to North America and Europe on April 23, 2021, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
