Our favorite Pokemon characters will be making a comeback in the mobile game! Yes, it is Jessie and James. Niantic will be celebrating the announcement of the latest Pokemon movie, titled Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.
Due to this, starting December 14th, 2020, we will have a Special Research with a Shiny Celebi encounter. There will also be other stuff inspired by the upcoming movie. Jessie and James’ job will be to guide us through the Research story and bring us a lot of trouble! On December 25th, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, the duo will be returning in their Meowth balloon and will be appearing in snapshots too.
Starting Monday, December 14th, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. we will see Explorer Pikachu and it will leave us on December 21st, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. local time. During this event, we will have the “Twice the Candy for catching Pokemon” bonus.
Niantic has also said that Hoothoot, Nuzleaf, Drilbur, Cottonee and Dwebble will be spawning more frequently, while Lickitung, Mawile, Flygon, Rufflet will be featured as Raid Bosses. The list of Pokemon hatching from 5km Eggs will be expanded with Igglybuff, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Bonsly, and Rufflet and its shiny version.
It seems like December will be one of the most exciting months of 2020, filled with many new features and events.
