A New American Football-type Game mode is coming to Rocket League

In honor of the Super Bowl LV, which takes place on February 7th, Psyonix Games have decided to add a new game mode called Gridiron, styled after American football.

Champions Field will be transformed into an American football pitch, with every single one of its elements. For scoring, a pretty new unique mechanic will be released. If you touch the ball with the roof of your car, it can attach to you, but at the same time, teammates and opponents can also take your ball away with their roofs. 7 points are awarded if the ball is attached to a player when entering the opponent’s goal, and 3 points are awarded if the ball is passed in or if the ball is loose.

If you drive out of bounds past the marked lines on the arena’s wall, you’ll fumble the ball, which is completely different from Rocket League’s other game modes.

This Superbowl LV event will start on February 2nd and end on February 8th, giving you a chance towards unlocking the Gridiron Guru player title, NFL Wheels, and 20,000 XP.
