Update: Trainers, Mega Ampharos is now available in Pokemon Go Raids.
Previous Story: As you know, we will be getting a new Mega Pokemon and according to Pokemon Go’s Chinese site, Mega Ampharos will be taking over Mega Raids.
Some fans have come across a certain Chinese blog, that happens to announce the next Mega Pokemon. Unlike Niantic, the blog is more direct, informing that Ampharos (the Electric Pokemon) will be the new Mega Pokemon.
We like to think that Niantic is hinting at this, with their announcement that says “On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, a certain Mega-Evolved Pokémon will make its Pokémon GO Debut in Mega Raids! More details will come to light as we get closer to the date.”
Nothing is officially stated yet, but given both the announcements, we will be having a Pokemon that will bring electricity and light to the Mega Raids on January 19th, 2021.
“The Super Electric Dragon will appear in the Super Team Battle on January 19 (Tuesday)!” Ampharos, directly translated in Chinese, is known as the Electric Dragon, and the translation for Mega Pokemon is Super Pokemon.
