Cyberpunk 2077’s Patch 1.2 delayed due to recent cyber attack

Cyberpunk 2077 won’t receive its major 1.2 update in the right time. The patch will face a delay due to the recent cyber attack on CD Projekt Red, from which a lot of data related to accounting, administration, investor relations, and even source codes have been gathered. CDPR understandingly enough fears the exposure of the sensitive data.

Furthermore, the company discovered that patch 1.2 focuses on quality improvements and bug fixes, and it’s now aiming for a release in the second half of March 2021.

The company has discovered that the only reason for the delay of patch 1.2 is the recent cyber attack on the studio’s IT infrastructure. For that reason, the company would need some additional time, as they’re probably working on finding the culprit. Previously, the company stated it will be working closely with IT forensic specialists to put an end to this incident, while the auction containing all the data has concluded with a purchase.

CD Projekt Red is still working on Cyberpunk 2077, hoping to get the game in a positive stance, putting lots of issues behind.
