Pokemon Go Masterwork Research Requirements, Players have to Reach Level 40 to Encounter Shiny Mew

For the last couple of days, all we have been hearing about a Masterwork Research that we know little about. So what is up with this Masterwork Research that is so special?

Well, the first thing that will make us happy is an encounter with a Shiny Mew at the end of the Research. Its name suggests that this Research will stay in the game for a while.
Niantic said that this Masterwork Research will be “available” to complete by the players that are level 40. Among other requirements, this one seems to be the most challenging. But they are luring us in with that Shiny Mew at the end of the tunnel.

As you know, the Masterwork Research is part of the new Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto event, which will start on Saturday, February 20th, 2021. There will be many types of Research and Collection Challenges for the participants to complete until Sunday, February 28th, 2021.

Besides a Shiny Mew, the participants in the event will be getting a Shiny Ditto upon completion of the Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto Special Research. Gleaming, right?

Masterwork Research Requirements

  • Platinum Kanto Medal
  • Players have to be Level 40
  • Catch 30 Pokemon of each type (Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dark, Dragon, Steel, Fairy). That’s a total of 540 Pokemon
  • Players have to spin 151 unique PokeStops
  • Walk 151 km
  • They will reveal more requirements soon

NOTE: There is no deadline to complete the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research, or the Masterwork Research.

We wish you strength, patience, and a lot of Pokemon during the Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto event.

  1. With many mons having dual typing, we won’t make to catch 540 pokemon to satisfy the “30 of each type” requirement. But we probably *will* have to catch a *lot* more than 540 mons to actually get 30 or more of each type.
