Walking Dead Developer has partnered for The Callisto Protocol

The Callisto Protocol is an upcoming third-person survival horror game scheduled for release in 2022. The game is being developed by the studio Striking Distance, founded by Glen Schofield, who had previously co-created the Dead Space series.

Today, it was announced that Striking Distance would be partnering with Skybound Entertainment, who were behind the Walking Dead games. Kirkman, Skybound Entertainment’s chairman, stated the following:

Through Skybound, The Walking Dead has expanded from its original comic book to multiple television series, books, video games, merchandise, and more, and we can’t wait to explore similar possibilities for The Callisto Protocol with Skybound’s multiplatform expertise.

The Callisto Protocol is set on one of Jupiter’s moons, Callisto, in the year 2320. The game challenges players to escape the maximum-security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets. The competition aims to set a new bar for horror in interactive entertainment, a blend of horror, action, and immersive storytelling. The Callisto Protocol has no confirmed release date nor releases window, but it’s estimated to release sometime in 2022.
