The Dynasty Warriors movie has gotten its first full trailer ahead of its next month release in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It will launch in Hong Kong cinemas on 29th April and make its way to Mainland China the following day. Sadly, there’s no word yet whether the movie will be getting any western release.
This movie was announced way back in 2016, and China Entertainment Digital 3D is producing it. Just like the games, it’s based on the period of the Three Dynasties from Chinese History. Chinese heroes Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei will be put against the powerful and malicious Lu Bu.
The Dynasty Warriors movie was filmed in Hong Kong and New Zealand, and the filming was actually completed in 2017. However, the long post-production process to bring the game’s characters to life was what made the movie release so late.
