Pokemon Go Creator Niantic Stands with the Asian and AAPI Communities and Against Racism, Hate and Xenophobia
A few days ago, something unimaginable happened, and eight people lost their lives. The crimes happened in a Spa area in Atlanta, where six out of eight people were of Asian descent.
Ever since then, many companies came forward and expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased people, and in those companies, we can now include Niantic.
As a company, they have announced that they stand with the Asian and AAPI communities and are against racism, hate, and xenophobia, and have stated that they are starting with their commitment to change. They have said that they are closely working with internal stakeholders and wider community leaders to formulate a plan where they will make their change.
We stand with the AAPI community & against racism, hate, & xenophobia. The murders in Atlanta & continued violence in the Bay Area, and the US, is inexcusable. The targeting of these communities must end. Here’s where we’re starting with our commitment to change. #StopAsianHate pic.twitter.com/yJ5DSh9UJd

Niantic stated that they are updating their internal education programs and they are currently working on making financial donations to organizations that are focused on Asians and AAPI people.
We are utterly saddened and disgusted by what is currently happening, and we do not tolerate any form of racism, hate, and xenophobia. Please be kind to each other in these dark times.
