Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan Leaves Blizzard After 19 Years

After 19 years of work for the highly popular and renowned Blizzard, Jeff Kaplan is stepping out. Today, in a sad farewell message, Blizzard has announced that Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan is leaving the company.

It was truly the honor of a lifetime to have the opportunity to create worlds and heroes for such a passionate audience. I want to express my deep appreciation to everyone at Blizzard who supported our games, our game teams, and our players. But I want to say a special thanks to the wonderful game developers that shared in the journey of creation with me.

Never accept the world as it appears to be. Always dare to see it for what it could be. I hope you do the same.

Aaron Keller, a veteran at Blizzard who has worked for the company for 18 years, will be stepping into the role of Jeff Kaplan as an Overwatch director. Aaron Keller further said that the development of Overwatch 2 has been ongoing healthily and will continue at the same pace.

As a Blizzard Employee, Jeff Kaplan has achieved numerous high-caliber milestones in his life as a Blizzard employee. From the beginning of World of Warcraft until the creation of Overwatch, Kaplan has been one of the masterminds contributing to every piece of exceptional video game title. Each of them had become widespread across the globe.

Jeff Kaplan is one of the multiple high-profile developers who have quit Blizzard after a long time. Judging by the situation, it seems that Blizzard is far from stable at this point. No one would ever believe that Jeff Kaplan is among the people leaving Blizzard, as it was one of the highly praised personas in Blizzard’s rows.

So far, Jeff Kaplan hasn’t discovered anything particular regarding his future endeavors. We wish him the best of luck and a happy journey in his future.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. My mission is to lurk and discover secrets, create guides and provide you with some important news. I mostly play FPS and love experimenting in good MMORPGs.
