The Pokemon we have all been seeing on the loading screen on top of the waterfall will finally make its appearance in Pokemon GO. The Life Pokemon Xerneas will illuminate our small screens on Tuesday, May 4th 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
In dedication to Xerneas, Niantic will be hosting an event called Luminous Legends X during which we will have more frequent encounters with Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokemon from the Kalos Region. Xerneas will start its debut in five-star Raids as a Raid Boss and will stay in that position until Monday, May 17th, 2021, at 8: p.m. local time. Besides Xerneas, we will see Spritzee, Swirlix and Goomy.
For the evolution of Goomy, Niantic will release a new type of lure called Rainy Lure Module, which will attract Water-, Bug-, and Electric-type of Pokemon. This module will serve to evolve Sliggoo (the evolution of Goomy) into Goodra. If you do not have the module, you could wait for the in-game weather to become rainy. The three new Pokemon can also be hatched from 7km Eggs ( Swirlix and Spritzee) and from the event-exclusive Timed Research. Another Pokemon that will make its debut will be Pancham, the Playful Pokemon.
The updated list of 7km Eggs will now include Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, Gible, Swirlix and Spritzee. Together with the Life Pokemon, Galarian Ponyta, Alolan Exeggutor and more Psychic-, Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokemon will be featured as Raid Bosses in one-star Raids or three-star Raids. We can get Galarian Ponyta from the event-exclusive AR Mapping tasks too. Dragonite and Salamence will be able to learn their exclusive events, which are Draco Meteor (Dragonite) and Outrage (Salamence).
During this event, we will have a global challenge which will be to catch a certain amount of Fairy-type Pokemon. Starting from May 1st, we will have time until May 9th, 2021, to complete the challenge of catching 500 million Fairy-type Pokemon. If we meet the goal, we will get the special bonuses that will be available from the second week of the events, or from May 11th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m and will finish on May 17th, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During these few days, a 3x Catch XP bonus will be active.
Niantic mentioned that after the Luminous Legends X ends another event called Luminous Legends Y, an event dedicated to Yveltal known as the Destruction Pokemon. More details in the upcoming days, so keep on checking our website.
