US Target will Not Sell Pokemon Trading Cards Beginning May 14, 2021

US Target stores will begin removing all TCG products starting tomorrow, May 14th, 2021.

This is due to employee safety concerns after an incident that happened a few days ago in which a 35-year-old man was assaulted by attackers aged 23-25 after an argument regarding the trading card game. The 35-year-old man pulled a gun that he was legally carrying after which the attackers ran away. It was reported that the attackers were later arrested, and witnesses said that they were hiding behind the trees after they heard what was happening outside.

Besides Pokemon cards, MLB, NFL, and NBA Trading cards will be also removed because the scalpers’ problem has risen again. Every store that carried these cards opted to lock the products, but this failed too. Later many opted for digital lines due to COVID, as the virus continued to circulate at a high rate.

Soon enough a new TCG set will be released, which is Eevee Heroes. Creatures, the Japanese company behind these cards, has said that they will be implementing a lottery system to protect the system as well as the customers that wish to purchase the set.
