Battlefield 2042 will support Cross-Play and Cross-Progression

Judging by recent Battlefield 2042 news, it seems that EA is truly listening to its fans and wants to make the next-gen and best shooter on the market. One of the most exciting features will be the Cross-Play and Cross-Progression, which will allow players to progress their accounts no matter the platforms they’re playing on. While some of the fans got disappointed with the cross-play feature, worry not. It will be available in Battlefield 2042.

In a recent Battlefield briefing, the developer discusses both the cross-play and cross-progression availability. It seems that both of them will be implemented in the game.

One of your most frequently asked questions is about cross-play. We can confirm it’s a function we’re looking to build and test for Battlefield 2042. To accommodate that, we’ve made the decision to move the Technical Playtest to later this summer, so we’ll have the opportunity to test the cross-play functionality.

On Cross-progression, the developer stated the following:

Alongside cross-play, we’re also building cross-progression and cross-commerce for Battlefield 2042, which will be shared across all platforms and travel with you wherever you go. For example, your unlocked progress and purchases in your PlayStation® copy of the game will carry over onto the Xbox or PC version, and vice versa*.

Therefore, both of the Cross-Play and Cross-Progression features are in play when it comes to Battlefield 2042. The developer wants to develop a unique gameplay experience empowering different platforms to join and play.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
