Battlefield 2042 Open Beta’s File Size on PlayStation 5 is ~17GB

Earlier this week, EA announced Battlefield 2042’s Open Beta phase, which will occur on October 6 for pre-orders and October 8 for everyone. Today, we found out about the Beta size on PlayStation 5, which will not require a lot of free storage on your consoles. A very good move by EA, as the game would only include a couple of portions of the game, such as game modes and maps.

While the whole game is expected to be around 100GB, the Open Beta will require around 17GB of hard drive space on the PlayStation 5. If we were about to talk about PC, the size between consoles and PC continuously varies, which should be around 3-5 GB of data differentiation.

Battlefield 2042’s beta download on PS5 comes at a small cost. The download size for Battlefield 2042’s beta on the PS5 is 16GB. This seems like a reasonable figure, and we can probably expect it to be similar (more or less) across different platforms as well.

But what’s essential for the PlayStation consumers is that The Battlefield 2042 Open beta on the PS5 and PS4 console won’t require an active PS Plus subscription, which means everyone could play it. On the other side, PlayStation’s competitor Xbox requires an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play it.
