Pokemon Go Halloween Mischief Part 1 Creepy Companions

A few days ago we were wondering if Niantic could make Pokemon Go Halloween 2021 better than the Pokemon Go Halloween 2020 event. We now have all the details for the event, so we are letting you judge it for yourself.

First and foremost, the Halloween 2021 event is split into two parts, something new to us as far as Halloween events go. The official start date of the Halloween event, called Pokemon GO Halloween Mischief is October 15th, 2021, and the end date is October 31st, 2021. The first part of the event is named Halloween Mischief Part 1 Creepy Companions, while the second part is called Halloween Part 2 Ghoulish Pals.

During the first part, more of the Psychic- and Poison-type Pokemon will be appearing in the game. As a debut Pokemon, Galarian Slowking will join Pokemon GO, as well as Shiny Spinarak (new Shiny alert!). Among many interesting spooky things, Trainers will get the second part of the Season of Mischief Special Research Story named Misunderstood Mischief, and if you happen to finish it before the end of the Season, there will be a special surprise with Hoopa waiting for you.

There will be a special Halloween Cup available in the GO Battle League with Halloween Mischief Drifblim featured as a possible encounter. To motivate Trainers to participate in the Halloween Cup, Niantic will release a Timed Research focused on participating in the Halloween Cup in the GO Battle League.

It seems like the accent will be put on Galar Region this time, with Galarian Slowking making its debut, which can be acquired through evolving Galarian Slowpoke. There are a few steps for the special Galarian evolution, and they are the following:

As a first step, you need to make sure that Galarian Slowpoke is set as your buddy. After you set it as your buddy, the next step is to catch 30 Psychic-type Pokemon. And this is it. We know that you might’ve expected something complicated and similar to an Eevee evolution, but Niantic decided to make it simple and easy.

Besides the new Shiny debut of Shiny Spinarak, the following Pokemon will be seen more during the Halloween 2021 event:

  • Halloween Mischief Pikachu (plus Shiny)
  • Zubat (plus Shiny)
  • Drowzee (plus Shiny)
  • Gastly (plus Shiny)
  • Misdreavus (plus Shiny)
  • Shuppet (plus Shiny)
  • Halloween Mischief Piplup (plus Shiny)
  • Stunkuu
  • Woobat (plus Shiny)
  • Gothita
  • Yamask (plus Shiny)

In every Pokemon GO event, we have Raid Bosses that can be new, rare, or common. For this event, as one-star Raid Bosses, we will have Galarian Slowpoke, Murkrow with a possible chance of encountering its Shiny form, Scraggy, Yamask, its Shiny form, and Espurr. As three-star Raid Bosses, we will see Alolan Raichu with its Shiny form, Sableye with its Shiny form, Banette, and Halloween Mischief Drifblim and its Shiny form. Something we are all more interested in is the five-star Raid Bosses. As we have already mentioned in previous posts, Altered Forme Giratina and its Shiny form will be featured as an old-new Raid Boss, and besides the Renegade Pokemon, we will have the chance to challenge Mega Gengar as a Halloween 2021 Mega Raid Boss, and we even get a Shiny form.

The 7km list will be expanding this event, and it will include Spinarak (plus Shiny form), Misdreavus (plus Shiny form), Shuppet (plus Shiny form), Chingling, Litwick, Galarian Yamas, and Golett.

There will be new event-exclusive Field Research tasks which will include Halloween Mischief Pikachu and its Shiny form, Zubat and its Shiny form, Drowzee and its Shiny form, Spinarak and its Shiny form, Halloween Mischief Piplup and its Shiny form, Woobat and its Shiny form, Gothita, Galarian Yamask and Halloween Mischief Drifblim and its Shiny form.

During the whole Halloween 2021 event, the second part of the Season of Mischief Story will be available, and the main focus will be on Hoopa. There will be more Psychic-, Ghost- and Dark-type Pokemon appearing in the wild.

“What Lies Beneath the Mask?” is the new Special Research, and we will learn more about Ghost-type Pokemon, how they function, and how they behave. To make us more curious about Ghost-type Pokemon, Yamask will be visiting us in the wild more often.

Even though the bonuses are not new, Trainers still get excited about them whenever Niantic gives them. Here are the bonuses during the Pokemon Go Halloween 2021 event:

  • 2x Transfer Candy
  • 2x Catch Candy
  • 2x Hatch Candy
  • Guaranteed Candy XL while walking with your buddy

We all know that all evil, spooky, scary, and unusual things happen at night, so to amplify that spooky feeling, during the in-game nighttime we will be hearing a remix of Lavender Town.

The new Costumed Pokemon will be Halloween Mischief Pikachu (plus Shiny), Halloween Mischief Piplup (plus Shiny) and Halloween Mischief Drifblim (plus Shiny). The fun is not ending yet!

There will be new Avatar Items, which will be available from Thursday, October 14th, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PDT and they are the following:

  • Pikachu Pumpkin Head
  • Pumpkaboo Top
  • Pumpkaboo Pants,
  • Hoopa headband
  • Halloween Face Sticker

The new Halloween-themed stickers will be available through PokeStop disc spins, Gifts, and in-game purchases in the shop.

Three new Halloween-themed Bundles will be available in the shop, and they are the following:

  • Creepy Crate (480 PokéCoins): 50 Poké Balls, one Remote Raid Pass, two Super Incubators, four Incense
