Pokemon Go Power Up PokeStops and Gyms Feature

Trainers, new details about the Power Up PokeStops and Gyms feature are revealed and appears like we will be able to level up PokeStops and Gyms through AR scans and reach different levels and rewards.

A new Pokemon Go feature that allows players to Power Up PokeStop and Gym is on the way and all players will get the bonuses at these PokeStops or Gyms.

We can level up a PokeStop or Gym through AR scans and reach Level 1, 2, and 3. Each level has different rewards, and there are different bonuses for each level up.

Here is everything we know about the new Power Up feature.

Power Up PokeStops Pokemon Go

  • All Trainers will get the bonuses to the PokeStop that gets powered up
  • At a PokeStop, wild Pokemon will appear more frequently
  • Limited Power Up bonus
  • How to Power Up? You can Power Up a PokeStop through Photo and AR submissions – If you scan this location or add a photo, the location will gain location points. When the location is powered up, it will provide bonuses depending on its level; or via Lucky Photo Disc Spin – While spinning a Photo Disc at a PokeStop or Gym, stop the Photo Disc where it started to add a location point
  • When you spin the location’s Photo Disc while your buddy is walking with you, your buddy will get a heart
  • With this feature, you can scan PokeStops and Gyms by walking around their real-world locations and recording videos with your smart device. These scans will contribute to the creation of 3D maps of those locations
  • There will be different levels, and each level has different bonuses
  • There are 3 levels, each giving different rewards. Level 1 PokeStop gives Bonus items on Spin. Level 2 PokeStop gives Bonus items on Spin, and Buddy Bonus Heart. Level 3 PokeStop gives Bonus items on Spins, Buddy Bonus Heart, Bonus Spawns, and Bonus Raid Premier Balls

Power Up Gyms Pokemon Go

  • All Trainers will get bonuses at this Gym
  • At a Gym, you’ll have bonus Premier Balls in the Pokemon encounter after you win a Raid Battle
  • How to Power Up? You can Power Up a Gym through Photo and AR submissions – If you scan this location or add a photo, the location will gain location points. When the location is powered up, it will provide bonuses depending on its level; or via Lucky Photo Disc Spin
  • While spinning a Photo Disc at a PokeStop or Gym, stop the Photo Disc where it started to add a location point
  • With this feature, you can scan PokeStops and Gyms by walking around their real-world locations and recording videos with your smart device. These scans will contribute to the creation of 3D maps of those locations

The Pokemon Go Power Up PokeStop or Gym feature will be available to all players. To be honest, we expect to see issues and bugs upon launch, and it will take some time until they fix them.

  1. Every time I try to do the AR scanning at a gym for the reward it offers, it just glitches out on me an never really gets to the scanning/recording part. Rather, there’s bugs existing in that idea already.

    So honestly, unless I can somehow get to level 2 conveniently for the Buddy Hearts, this really doesn’t pique my interest.
