Pokemon Go Festival of Lights featuring Dedenne

A new event got announced on Pokemon GO’s official blog post, and with all the information we have, this event will be a blast.

The event is named Festival of Lights, and will start on Friday, November 5th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. and will end on Sunday, November 14th, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. It will be in two parts, the first part is called the Festival of Lights, and the second part is With Light Comes Shadow.

During the first part, which will run from November 5th until November 14th, 2021, we will have many bonuses, among which are increased rewards from gifts, x2 Increase in Friendship levels and the limit of opening gifts will be up to 45 gifts per day. The Festival of Lights will bring us a new display, where players will have fireworks as part of the celebration for the festival of Diwali.

The Season of Mischief Story will be continuing, and if you manage to complete the story, you will be awarded access to a special event regarding Hoopa.

A Pokemon that will be making its debut in the game during this event is Dedenne. This Pokemon, originally discovered in the Kalos region, will be joining us during The Festival of Lights event, and with it, Pokemon such as Pikachu, Magnemite, Slugma, Whismur, Electrike, Blitzle, Conttonee, Tynamo, Fennekin, and more rarely, Shiny

Darumaka and Litwick will be appearing more often in the wild.

Vulpix, Magnemite, Electabuzz, Magmar, Electrike, Blitzle, Darumaka (their Shiny forms too), Litleo, and Dedenne will be featured as Field Research task rewards.

As Raid Bosses, in one-star Raids, we will have Charmander, Vulpix, Chinchou, Litwick, and Dedenne. In three-star raids, Trainers will have the chance to battle with Alolan Raichu, Electabuzz, Magmar, and Bellossom.

The five-star Raid Bosses will be Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. These Pokemon will have an exclusive attack named Sacred Sword. Mega Manectric will be featured as a Raid Boss in Mega Raids.

The 7km Egg pool will be expanded with Alolan Geodude, Chinchou, Pichu, Vulpix, Magby, Elekid and Budew, and the list also include their Shiny form.

The in-game shop will offer Trainers a free Festival of Lights T-shirt, and if you would like to spend some coins, you can buy Dedenne-inspired avatar items.

Trainers that are located in India on Sunday, November 7th, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time will have the chance to see Blitzle and Dedenne more frequently in the wild and will enjoy a 2x Catch Candy bonus.

For the second part, we have little information, we know that it is called With Light Comes Shadow and that it will be focused on Team GO Rocket. This part will start on November 9th, 2021, with no end date announced. During this second part, Trainers will be able to use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration. Team GO Rocket members will be visiting PokeStops more frequently, and they will also appear in balloons.
