Homeworld 3 estimated to launch by the end of 2022

Homeworld 3 returns to Windows PC in the fourth quarter of 2022 with new gameplay details revealed at The Game Awards. Signature battles are back, but players will also be able to hop between ships and explore planets as they fight for survival against alien races seeking Earth’s resources.

Gearbox Publishing announced Thursday that Homeworld is coming soon through their publishing label “Gear Box” alongside developer Blackbird Interactive who made this possible! The first Homeworld was released in 1999, and it’s still going strong nearly 20 years later. The game has developed into a franchise with multiple games, including 2003’s second installment called “Homeworld 2.”

The franchise has been expanding with new releases like Homeworld 2 and Deserts of Kharak. In 2016, it was announced that this long-running space exploration game would become a tabletop role-playing experience thanks to Modiphius Entertainment!

The third installment of the Homeworld franchise will include heady space combat, just like in previous titles. Megaliths are large derelict spacecraft that allow for unique tactical options, including hit-and-run attacks and ambushes on enemy ships. Critics critically acclaimed the first two installments as one game “the year” achievements with their exciting high-intensity battles between races who inhabit planets within this universe filled with action from beginning to end.
