Pokemon Go January 2022 Events and Bonuses

The new year is just days away, and Niantic decided to celebrate it just like we all expect, full of events, bonuses, rewards, and many other items that Trainers will be excited about.

Starting January 1st, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. as new Research Breakthrough rewards we will have Onix with its Shiny version, plus Steelix Mega Energy. These rewards will end on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, at 1:00 p.m PST (GMT-8). During the whole month, every Monday, Trainers will get a one-time-purchase bundle that will have one Remote Raid Pass plus other items, all for 1 PokeCoin.

Other events featured in January are the following:

Starting from Friday, December 31st, 2021, at 10:00 p.m. until January 4th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time, we will have a New Year’s event where we will see Pokemon in new costumes and special avatar items.

The next event is called Mountains of Power, which will take place from January 7th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. until January 13th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During these few days, Trainers will work together with Spark and try to activate the second part of the mysterious door.

The last event of January 2022 will be dedicated to Electric- and Steel- Pokemon, and it will start on January 19th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time, with an end date on February 1st, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. During these days, Trainers will seek the help of Spark to open the final part of the mysterious door.

We will have several Raid Bosses, and in five-star Raids, we will have Kyurem, which will stay as a Raid Boss until Friday, January 7th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., and the next Boss in line will be Heatran. This Legendary Pokemon will stay in Raids until Saturday, January 15th, 2022, and it will be replaced on the same day, at 10:00 a.m. local time with Genesect (Shock Drive). The last five-star Raid Boss will be Regice, and it will leave on February 1st, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

As for Mega Raids, until January 7th, 2022, 10:00 a.m. local time, we will have the chance to battle Mega Abomasnow. From January 7th, 2022, until February 1st, 2022, as a Mega Raid Boss we will see Mega Aerodactyl.

On January 5th, as part of the Raid Hour events, Kyurem will be the featured Raid Boss, and on January 12th, Heatran will take the spotlight in the event. On January 19th, Genesect (Shock Drive) will be placed as a Raid Boss in the Raid Hours event, and on January 26th, which will be the last Raid Hour event of January, Trainers will have the chance to battle Regice.

The Spotlight Hours will take place on the following dates:

  • January 4th, 2022, will feature Solosis with a 2x Transfer Candy bonus.
  • January 11th, 2022, will have Diglett with a 2x Catch Stardust bonus.
  • January 18th, 2022 – the featured Pokemon will be Plusle with a 2x Catch Candy bonus.
  • January 25th, 2022 – Minun with 2x Transfer Candy bonus.

Now, the event that every Trainer is looking forward to, and that event is January Community Day. The event will take place on January 16th, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, and the featured Pokemon will be the Clap Pokemon, otherwise known as Spheal. If you evolve Sealeo (Spheal’s evolution) during the event or two hours after it ends, you will get a Walrein with the event-exclusive Charged Attack Icicle Spear and Fast Attack Powder Snow.
