The celebrations of the New Year in Pokemon GO are about to begin, and as with every year, Niantic decided to celebrate the New Year with an in-game event.
The event called Pokemon GO New Year 2022 will start on Friday, December 31st, at 10:00 p.m. and will end on January 4th, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
During these few days, there will be fireworks on the map screen, and Trainers will have 2x Hatch Stardust, 2x Hatch Candy and ½ Hatch distance bonuses. A special event-exclusive Timed Research will be available for all Trainers where you will be able to encounter many costumed Pokemon. But, that is not it!
Shiny Hoothoot, New Year’s Hoothoot and 2022 Glasses Slowking will be making their debut in the game, together with various costumed Pokemon, such as:
- Party Hat Bulbasaur
- Party Hat Charmander
- Party Hat Squirtle
- Party Hat Raticate
- Party Hat Nidorino
- New Year Hat Pichu
- New Year Hat Pikachu
- New Year Hat Raichu
- 2020 Glasses Slowpoke
- 2021 Glasses Slowbro
- 2022 Glasses Slowking
- Party Hat Gengar
- Party Hat Wurmple
- Party Hat Wobbuffet
Besides these Pokemon, the following Pokemon will be appearing more in the wild:
- New Year’s Hat Pikachu
- Seel
- 2020 Glasses Slowpoke
- New Year’s Hat Hoothoot
- Stantler
- Party Hat Wurmple
- Loudred
- Fearow
Well, that is enough with the debuts and wild encounters. We know that you all are more interested in which Bosses will take over during this event, and here they are:
In One-star Raids, Trainers will have the chance to battle against 2020 Glasses Slowpoke, New Year’s Hat Hoothoot, Party Hat Wobbuffet and Mawile.
In Three-star Raids, as Raid Bosses, we will see Party Hat Raticate, Party Hat Nidorino, Machamp, Party Hat Gengar and 2022 Glasses Slowking.
The Five-star Raid Boss that will be featured in the Pokemon GO New Year 2022 event is Kyurem, while the Mega Raid Boss will be Mega Abomasnow.
The Field Research Task Encounters will be updated during this event, and Pokemon such as 2020 Glasses Slowpoke, New Year Hat Hoothoot, Party Hat Bulbasaur, Party Hat Charmander and Party Hat Squirtle will join the list.
Another list that is going to be updated is the 7km Egg list. Pokemon like Party Hat Bulbasaur, Party Hat Charmander, Party Hat Squirtle, 2020 Glasses Slowpoke, New Year Hat Hoothoot, New Year Hat Pichu and Party Hat Wurmple will be hatching from 7km Eggs during the event.
