January 2022 Community Day The Spheal Deal Research Storyline

Hey there, %PLAYERNAME%! It's great to see you again! I’m glad you’re here,

I wanted to tell you about the most amazing thing I saw on my morning walk today— an assortment of spherical Spheals spinning across an icy lake! Ha ha, ha..

Ahem. Did you know that Spheal always travels by rolling around on its ball-like body?

When the season for ice floes arrives, this Pokémon can be seen rolling about on ice and crossing the sea.

They’re also covered in fluffy fur, to keep them from feeling cold on the ice. It’s the cutest, most heart-warming sight I’ve seen today!

Why don’t you go check out some Spheal for yourself too?

Good to see you back %PLAYERNAME%! I see that you’ve caught a stockpile of Spheals yourself! Aren’t they just the roundest?

According to my research, the evolution of Spheal, Sealeo, thinks so too! It seems that Sealeo occasionally entertains itself by balancing and rolling a Spheal on its nose.

Sealeo has the habit of always juggling on the tip of its nose anything it sees for the first time. I wish I could see it for myself!

Welcome back, Trainer! I see you've evolved some Sealeo. I hope we'll get a chance to see it play with Spheal!

But I have some breaking news for you– You remember that icy lake I told you about?

Well, it looks like something’s broken up it up, and now all the Spheal are swirling around in the water! They seem to be having fun, but I wonder what Pokémon did this?

My best guess is Walrein. Walrein swims all over in frigid seawater while crushing icebergs with its grand, imposing tusks. Doesn’t that sound magnificent?

Can you evolve some Sealeo so we can research them up close for ourselves?

You did it, Trainer! Walrein sure has wonderful tusks in the flesh, or in the blubber, as it were. Haha…

Another fun fact about Walrein: They form herds of 20 to 30 individuals. When a threat appears, the herd's leader will protect the group with its life.

So all those Spheal and Sealeo are being well-looked after. How wholesome of Walrein!

And I’m sure your Walrein will protect you in battle as well. You already look like quite a winning team!

Thanks for going on this super Spheal adventure with me today, %PLAYERNAME%! I’ve learned a lot from the research you’ve helped me with. Until next time, let’s GO!
