DayZ Experimental Update 1.17 Introduces Damage to Cookware

The new DayZ experimental 1.17 update brings new additions and features to the game. Even if the update itself is currently in its testing phase, it’s supposed to become the next rollout on the live servers. Among the DayZ community, the update is not as welcome, simply due to the Cookware changes, which now is damaged when used for cooking. Yes, even if it’s stainless steel we’re talking about, it won’t endure the fire as before.

On the positive side of things, we have the new and reworked Gas Mask, which filter won’t get ruined upon total usage. Instead, it can be replenished by using charcoal tablets. Furthermore, this update also increases the universal temperature sources that allow players to increase the number of torches for better character heat comfort.

As for the combat features, three new civilian weapons have been added, including a pitchfork and craftable spear. While melee combat does not work best in DayZ, it’s the only and best way to excruciate the zombies. More about the update can be found on DayZ’s official website, where the developer reveals a brand new control scheme for console controllers.

Bohemia Interactive further noted that it doesn’t want to reveal the complete update so that players can experience it for themselves. Until that state is reached, it’s time for some hardcore DayZ game on public experimental servers.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. At the time, I play everything that seems reasonable to play, make content about it and help gamers to the best of my abilities. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC.
