NBA 2K Take-Two Interactive Gets Sued Over Loot Boxes

For several years now, loot boxes have become the most controversial item in the gaming community, with many developers either going around them or no use at all.

Many companies decide not to use loot boxes because they create serious problems, but Take-Two Interactive has decided to use them in their most famous franchise, the NBA 2K. As reported, a class-action lawsuit is filed, where the minor and their guardian state that these loot boxes “lure” the players, especially people under the legal age to buy them. The file states that the loot boxes distance the players from the financial impact.

Loot boxes are very controversial, as several states suggest that these should be classified as gambling. Some states banned them completely, while others say that there must be a warning of a game containing loot boxes.

What do you think about this problem? How do you feel about loot boxes in games?
